Today is the first day that I will actually wear my heels out! I wore them last night while making Taquitos but I don't think that counts since I was only standing in front of the microwave for a few minutes.
I spent some time last night trying out arch supports and different pads to make my heels more comfy but I think they will be best with just the heel guards. I really hate getting blisters on my Achilles tendon area so heel guards are a must!
With my guards in place and my matching red cardigan on it's off to the store I went, two and a half inches taller than normal.
At first it was all good, I made it over the green painted rocks, off the curb and into the driver seat. Phew! Unfortunately the next part was harder. I went into Joann's to get some thread and quilt backing to start a sewing project, I walked around for a little bit checking out different fabrics and feeling proud that I hadn't fallen and I wasn't in that much pain yet. I grabbed my fabric that needed cutting and stood in line for the cutting table.
Trouble, trouble, trouble! I was getting a bit wobbly so I picked up one foot at a time and rolled my ankles around, then I swayed back and forth to take the pressure off but my poor baby toes were screaming! That is about the time that the sides of my calves started burning, it is the kind of burn you get from using a muscle not normally used.
Finally it was my turn and I was relieved to be able to lean on the counter, I leaned every direction possible and I was hoping the girl would take her time cutting, but sooner rather than later she was done and that meant I now had to hike up to the cash register and check out.
I made it! I paid, I got to the car and those heels came off faster than you can blink. AHHHhhhhh, and then CRAP! Now my feet are going to swell! Do I walk back in the house barefoot or dare to put them back on and hope my feet don't feel like they are going to fall off when I get inside?
I WILL BE A HEEL GIRL! I WILL! And with that I put those heels back on, I clicked and clacked my way back into the house and felt proud. Yep, I can do it!
I have always wanted to wear Heels around like it was normal; To wear them some place like wal-mart, but alas i have flat chubby feet and heels will never be my suiter!!! i will simply have to admire your heels from afar!!
